It's a thought we often forget that you can create your own meanings in life.
When I met Jarret 10 years ago, we knew we were indelibly bound.
And it would be devastating to imagine living life with any other. As 10 years crept up, we surely felt the pressure of doing what is expected. But we were never the type to do what was expected of us and forcing legalities on our bond didn't feel quite right. We knew that while a legal document didn't matter to us as much, that quality time in magical places with our loved ones sure did.
So for our 10 years together, we surprised our friends and family with books we created inviting them on a 5 day adventure to Iceland with a day celebrating our time together and the future. I'm in complete disbelief and awe this trip even happened. It was such a dream come true. Without these images and video, I would think I imagined it all.
Accompanied by Jarret's parents Max and Lynne, his brother Cole, my mother Maria, and our good friends Andrea, TJ, Alyssa, Kelsey and Katherine.
The day and all these photos were photographed by Gabe McClintock who is my favorite wedding photographer. He was the only choice to photograph this day and we are still so honored and in love with the images he gave us. He captured these in some of the harshest wind I've ever been in and that's coming from a Wyoming girl. His presence and art in itself was another dream come true for us.
Friday, April 13th began in Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Iceland at 10:30am...
Here is our film too made by the incredible Seth Dunlap of Ivory and Iron.
